1. Kick-off meeting of ARDAFORECAST project

Overview:
The first official meeting between partners took place in Zlatograd on 24-25 April 2013. The following agenda was followed in this kick-off meeting: Introduction of the participants; Overall review of the project plan; Nomination of Project Management committee, Discussion on managing administrative, financial and reporting issues, Managing data collection, technological and apply research issues; Discussion on hydrometrological monitoring equipment to be installed, what and where. Discussing the Procurement plan; Discussion on data collection issues and program; Identification of contact persons from each partner for each WPs and activity, Discussion on Information and Publicity issues – designing project logo and web-site, Discussion on the possibility to allow observation from Turkish DSI, Planning training workshop on financial and administrative reporting, incl. responsible accouters and others from the partners, Designing a timetable of the next meetings of the partners

2. Meeting btween the Four Partners and Managing Authorities

Thessaloniki, Greece

30-31 May 2013
Overview:
On 30th and 31st May 2012 in Thessaloniki took place a 2 meetings – the first between the Bulgarian partners and the second between the four partners and the project offiver of the Mr. Charalampious from the JTS. Questions concerning the organization of financial flows and other administrative and accountant issues were discussed in order the procedures of the project to reply all the requirements of Bulgarian legislation and the requirements for the Bulgarian beneficiaries of the Programme.

3. Meeting between Partners

Ivaylovgrad, Bulgaria
Date:
2-3-4 October 2013
Overview:
A Steering Committee Meeting ARDAFORECAST project took place in Ivaylovgrad on 2-4 Oct.2013. At that meeting experts presented the project progress and planned the upcoming collaborative tasks. This was a regular meeting of the management team of the partner organizations. Observers from Turkish side participated too.

4. Presentation of the Project during a Meeting of the Basin Council of EARBD

Overview:

6. Fieldwork

Dates:
October-November-December 2013
Overview:
Flood prevention experts and GIS-experts of the team of Partner 2 EARBD took part in 3 consecutive missions to establish the infrastructure and facilities in sensitive areas in Arda river basin in order to develop possible measures to prevent and reduce the risk of flooding in the area. The fieldwork was a good basis for analyzing the problems.

On the 31.10.2013 a team from NIMH visited the dam of Therapio on the greek side of Arda river basin where is installed one of the telemetric stations within the ARDAFORECAST project. The station's data will serve to assess the flood wave propagation on Arda river in Greek teritory, precipitation and air temperature measurements. The visit was facilitated by Maria Xamitidou from RDFEMT and from Fotis Maris from DUTH.
